Vasilije Micić has rejected the renewal offer from Anadolu Efes and the offer from Real Madrid
He will join the Oklahoma City Thunder next season
Micic declined offers by Real Madrid and Anadolu Efes.
Micic, 27, is widely regarded as one of the best non-NBA players.
The Serbian was initially drafted in 2014 by the Philadelphia 76ers. Still, he opted to play in Europe for a few more years for Bayern Munich, Red Star Belgrade, and Anadolu Efes.
The Thunder acquired Micic’s rights in the Al Horford trade. Sam Presti sent Danny Green, Terrance Ferguson, and Vincent Poirier to Philadelphia for Al Horford, Theo Maledon, a 2025 first-round pick, and the rights to Vasilije Micic.
In one of his finest performances this season, Micic dropped 37 points on Fenerbahce’s head in the heated, bitter Istanbul derby.
The addition of Micic brings another playmaker onto the Thunder’s books, and it is indicative of the sort of basketball that the Thunder will play next season.
Oklahoma City will have quite a few unselfish, excellent passers, and I expect the ball movement to be impressive.
