PAUL GEORGE WAS NAMED AN ALL-STAR STARTER! Oh, and the Thunder also defeated the Pelicans on Thursday night.
Oklahoma City beat the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night by a score of 122-116. Steven Adams was a big contributor in a second quarter that the Thunder would win 37-25.
The Pelicans cut the Thunder lead down to 118-113 with two minutes left in the game, but Paul George would nail a step-back three to increase the lead to 121-113 on the next possession. The Thunder defense would close the game out to secure the win.
Paul George dropped 23 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists just after being named a starter in next months NBA All-Star Game. Russell Westbrook recorded his 15th triple double of the season with 23 points, 17 rebounds and 16 assists.

Steven Adams did most of his damage in the second quarter. Adams scored 12 of his 20 points in the second frame. OKC’s lead ballooned in the second quarter Giving the Thunder a 65-53 halftime advantage.
The win brings Oklahoma City’s record to 30-18, two games behind Denver and four games behind Golden State. Fourth place Portland trails Oklahoma City by a game and-a-half.
We will find out if Russell Westbrook or Steven Adams makes the All-Star Game on February 7th when the reserves are announced.
