The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Monday night that the Oklahoma City Thunder has waived point guard Frank Jackson.

This news is a bit surprising, Jackson played well in the preseason, averaging 12.3 points on and shot 71.4%.
Jackson was the last remaining player on the roster without guaranteed money this season, so this could have played a role in the decision to cut him.
The Thunder’s logjam at the guard spots also could have made Jackson expendable despite his impressive preseason performance.
The Thunder also released T.J. Leaf and Admiral Schofield last Friday.
With Jackson’s departure, the Thunder’s opening day roster is fully set:
PG: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Theo Maledon, Ty Jerome
SG: George Hill, Hamidou Diallo
SF: Lu Dort, Justin Jackson, Trevor Ariza, Darius Miller
PF: Darius Bazley, Kenrich Williams
C: Al Horford, Aleksej Pokusevski, Mike Muscala, Isaiah Roby
The two two-way players on the team will be Moses Brown and Josh Hall. Ariza and Miller will not be with the team for the foreseeable future.
