Just when you thought it was safe to make your Thunder player collage, Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti does it again. Carmelo Anthony will be wearing Thunder blue this season.

According to ESPN’s NBA rumor guru, Adrian Wojnarowski, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the New York Knicks have come to terms on a trade that will bring Carmelo Anthony to the heartland. On the Thunder’s part, the Knicks will get Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a 2018 2nd round draft pick via the Chicago Bulls.

Anthony recently added the Thunder to the list of teams he was willing to waive his $8.1M trade kicker for and talks that had gone on for weeks between Presti and Knicks GM Scott Perry intensified in the past 24 hours until details of a deal were finalized earlier today.

A trade call with the league office on Monday should finalize the deal and Anthony, 33, should join the team on the first day of training camp Tuesday.

The Thunder are making a massive commitment with the Anthony deal which adds $27 million in luxury tax for the 2017-18 season. Anthony comes with 2 years remaining on his current contract and a $54M pricetag, however, the second and final year is a player option.
