OKC drills season-high 21 three-pointers in 112-103 win over Minnesota

The Oklahoma City Thunder sizzled Monday night, draining a season-high 21 three-pointers in a 112-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center.

The Thunder (19-24) shot over 56% from beyond the arc and 47% overall despite missing regular starters Luguentz Dort and Al Horford. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 31 points (11-for-23), four assists, and four three-point makes.

Oklahoma City’s second unit was also a difference-maker. The team scored 46 points off the bench while going 16-for-26 from deep.

Second-year guard Ty Jerome was perfect from beyond the arc, scoring 15 points on 5-for-5 shooting to go along with six assists and four rebounds. Kenrich Williams chipped in 12 points with four boards and three helpers while Justin Jackson scored nine points and dished out four assists. Svi Mykhailiuk was also solid in just his third outing for OKC, scoring 10 points with three dimes.

The Thunder’s ball movement was in full swing as the team assisted on 27 of 41 makes, including 16 from the second unit.

Aleksej Pokusevski drew another start and cranked out a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Isaiah Roby and Theo Maledon each scored nine points while Moses Brown scored four and led all players with 17 rebounds.

Karl Anthony Towns led all scorers with 33 points while grabbing 10 boards for Minnesota (10-33). Rookie of the Year candidate Anthony Edwards scored 16 points but went just 6-for-16 along the way. Jaylen Nowell scored 14 off the bench.

The Thunder looks to make it three straight wins Wednesday night as they host the Memphis Grizzlies for the first of four straight home games.
