The Thunder should be strong contenders to win it all

The summer of basketball has already kicked off; the California Classic and Utah Summer League are ongoing but the main attraction of the summer starts on August 8th. All eyes will turn to the Thomas & Mack Center in Nevada for the Las Vegas Summer League.

All 30 teams are invited to Vegas and it is the perfect opportunity for young players to truly establish themselves. In the last few years, we have seen young players such as Trae Young and Zach LaVine emerge as rising stars in the NBA in Summer League competition.

At this point in time, we do not know who will feature on the Thunder’s roster. It was previously announced by the Thunder that Aleksej Pokusevski will not play in Las Vegas. The Thunder have other plans for Pokusevski’s development and Summer League does not quite fit into those plans.

The likes of Theo Maledon, Josh Giddey, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Tre Mann will likely play in Summer League. I could also see someone like Vic Krejci playing as he returns from injury.

Schedule:

August 8: OKC vs DET - 7:30 CST (ESPN 2)

August 11: OKC vs NOP - 6:00 CST (NBA TV)

August 13: OKC vs GSW - 6:00 CST (ESPN 2)

August 14: OKC vs IND - 5:00 CST (ESPN 2)
