Collison out, Love questionable | NBA in OKC
Minnesota forward Kevin Love, who would be second in the league in rebounds (12.3) if he had enough games to qualify, is listed as a game-time decision for the Timberwolves. Love, battling strep throat, missed the Timberwolves’ overtime win Monday against Philadelphia and practice Tuesday. It was reported Love might be sidelined a week but he attended the Wednesday morning shootaround and might play. Love is averaging 15.2 points, second highest on Minnesota’s roster.

Perkins: Two Underdogs Winning - Basketball News & NBA Rumors
Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook could join an elite group this season. Only six NBA players have averaged at least 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds in their second season: Oscar Robertson, Norm Van Lier, Walt Frazier, Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd and LeBron James. Westbrook (16.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 7.5 apg) could become the seventh.

Here’s a nugget you might not know: The Oklahoma City Thunder leads the NBA in inter-conference victories. Their victory Monday night in Atlanta pushed the surprising Thunder to 15-4 against Eastern Conference opponents. Not bad for a team which won only 23 games last season. They’ve won 23 already this season. The success of the Thunder against the East (they are only 8-14 in their own conference) drives home the point that, once again, after a one-year blip, the Western Conference, top-to-bottom, is the best. In nine inter-conference matchups on Martin Luther King Day, the West prevailed in seven, highlighted by the Thunder’s win in Atlanta, the Mavericks’ win over the Celtics in Boston and the Lakers’ victory over the Magic at the Staples Center.

Notes on Durant & the D-League | Thunder Rumblings
Kevin Durant’s No. 35 Thunder jersey is in the top 15 in league-wide sales for the first time since his rookie since, the league announced today. Durant’s jersey is 15th behind Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson.

Fixing The NBA Playoffs - Basketball News & NBA Rumors -
The young Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the NBA's most dynamic and exciting teams. Although most experts believed they were a year or two away from establishing themselves as a quality squad, they have already taken important steps as an organization and, after beating the Hawks in Atlanta yesterday afternoon, have compiled an undeniably impressive 23-18 record. Yes, exactly halfway through their 82-game regular schedule, the up-and-coming Thunder are five games above .500. Armed with a roster loaded with young, talented, and exciting athletes - and of the league's elite superstars in Kevin Durant - Oklahoma City has forced the rest of the NBA, and fans across the country, to take notice. However, NBA enthusiasts outside of Oklahoma haven't had much of a chance to see the OKC crew, as the Thunder are rarely on national television. But that would change if the Kevin Durant and company made some noise in the postseason, right? One small problem with that premise: if this past Sunday had been the final day of the NBA regular season, and the playoffs began on Monday, Durant and the rest of his teammates would have been watching the first round of the postseason from their couches, just like you and me…

NBA.com: As the Magic disappear, the Nets are back to old tricks
Is it far-fetched to think that when the Oklahoma City Thunder pay a visit to Memphis on Friday night that we're looking at a preview of the Western Conference finals in a couple of years? Everybody knows about the up-and-coming Thunder with their three young stars, Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook. But the Grizzlies of Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay, O.J. Mayo and Marc Gasol are still flying a bit under the radar despite going 20-10, since their 1-8 start.
