Hawks blowout Thunder 116-93

In their second game of a four-game road trip, the Oklahoma City Thunder traveled to Atlanta, but it seems the red hot Hawks were too much for the Thunder, with Atlanta winning 116-93.

The Hawks are now 7-0 this month.

The opening quarter would be the demise of the Thunder in tonight’s game. As the Thunder would find themselves down 25-8 with four minutes left in the first quarter.

Trae Young would lead the way for Atlanta with 18 first-half points. Behind Young’s scoring, the Hawks would lead by 20 points at halftime.

Atlanta would control throughout the second half, not allowing Oklahoma City to come within single digits for the rest of the game.

The biggest lead for Hawks was 27 points.

Much of the Hawks' success offensively would come from points in the paint. Atlanta dominated inside scoring 52 points in the paint.

“We’ve been really good in transition defense but I think that was the one area that really hurt us tonight,” said Al Horford.

A bright spot for the Thunder tonight was Ty Jerome. The young guard had a career-high 18 points off the bench. Jerome also shot an impressive 6-of-8 from the three-point line.

“The more he establishes himself as a threat from behind the line, it going to open his game up and it's going to open him up for our offense as well,” Mark Daigneault said.

We will see if the Thunder can break this two-game skid as they head to Houston to take on the Rockets on Sunday.
