In a preseason blowout loss, the Milwaukee Bucks soundly handled the Oklahoma City Thunder 130-110.
Even with the lopsided score, preseason results don’t matter. With that said, let’s look at which individuals stood out the most for the Thunder in this game.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort were Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort. Both played great, but that should not surprise you at this point in their careers.
SGA finished with 12 points and six assists in limited action. Dort got hot from downtown and went 4-of-6 and scored 19 points total in 19 minutes played.
Josh Giddey continued to look good in his second game, finishing with nine points, six assists, and six rebounds. Much like the Hornets game, the assist number could’ve been higher if his teammates hit some of their shots off of his passes.
The sixth overall pick has shown why he was a top-six pick in a loaded draft with a stellar preseason so far. I think Giddey has shown enough these first two games to limit his minutes for the last two preseason games.
Please don’t risk the rookie getting hurt, and make sure he is fully ready to go for opening night.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl got the start over Isaiah Roby.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault mentioned that the starting center position would be the most fluid of the five spots this season. So far, that’s the case with the rookie getting the start as he finished with six points and three assists.
Backup guards Ty Jerome and Tre Mann looked good too. Jerome finished with 13 points, three assists, and four rebounds.
Mann finished with nine points and six rebounds.
Aleksej Pokusevski struggled with two points in 19 minutes, while Darius Bazley played better with eight points and four rebounds.
The Thunder finish off the preseason with a back-to-back set against the Denver Nuggets this Wednesday and Thursday.
